The first comment is from a regular reader.. the second comment from Anonymous – don’t you just admire people who have convictions but not strong enough to put their name to their diatribe … but I digress …

It would seem that this anonymous person is from the Dunedin, FL area.. 37 K people in Pinellas county…  Tampa area…according to www.YP.com there is a total of three WAGS in that town.. if anonymous even works for WAGS. BE WELL… because your health is everything…

Walgreens has over built having 3 stores in 5 miles in my area. Next they refused and insulted me with my narcotics. So I will not spend a penny in the store. DEA had nothing to do with the lies I was told or their refusal to fill a legal prescription last year. I am sure that they may have decent staff somewhere that will be hurt but their discrimination caused them to lose money from me.

  • So many addicts on here this comical all the wag employees who read this already know what type of people are posting here don’t be mad cause you crackheads are denied fills from your shady doctors we don’t need or want you in our pharmacy we would rather tend to people who actually are sick our service level suffers from having to deal with you ass holes all day long the logistics of this post are unrealistic while some changes are inevitable
This wouldn’t fly in America folks

Per Steve: thanks for reading… how is the weather down there in Dunedin, FL with its THREE WALGREENS… I sure that all the snow birds just flock to your store looking to have their Rxs filled from their northern prescribers.. only to discover the “Florida pharmacy crawl”.. BE WELL !

DEA’s Own Hiring Policy Admits Pot Isn’t As Bad As Other Drugs

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/02/13/dea-hiring-policy-marijuana_n_4784042.html

WASHINGTON — As Drug Enforcement Administration officials warn of the threat of legalizing marijuana and insist that it’s one of the “most dangerous” controlled substances out there, along the lines of heroin and LSD, their claims are being undermined by an unlikely source: the agency’s very own drug policy.

Under the DEA’s hiring rules, an applicant for any agency position who admits to or is found to have used narcotics or dangerous drugs is not considered for employment. Any past use of heroin, LSD, cocaine, or even Adderall without a prescription immediately disqualifies an applicant for a job at the DEA.

The DEA’s one-and-only exception to the stringent policy? Marijuana.

Applicants who admit to “limited youthful and experimental use of marijuana” may get an exception from the policy, making it the single controlled substance that the DEA implicitly admits isn’t as bad as all other illegal drugs.

The DEA policy dates back at least seven years, as it was noted in a 2007 story about the FBI deciding to relax its own drug policy.

‘Well Beyond HIV’ Exhibit Celebrates Older Adults Living With HIV

http://www.edgeboston.com/news/news/170352/%27well_beyond_hiv%27_exhibit_celebrates_older_adults_living_with_hiv

They launched the campaign because by 2015, half of adults living with HIV in the U.S. will be 50 years old or older. Left unaddressed, older adults with HIV may lack the support needed to manage HIV and other chronic conditions commonly associated with aging.

As the population of older Americans living with HIV/AIDS grows, the daily realities, challenges and successes of their lives remain unrecognized and ignored. Through sharing their difficulties, battles and triumphs through captivating portraits and insightful testimonials, The Well Beyond HIV campaign allows audiences to experience real-life stories of inspirational Americans aging with HIV.

Through more than 800 Walgreens HIV-specialized pharmacies throughout the country, more than 2,000 HIV-trained pharmacists are leading consumer education and testing programs, helping patients access financial support programs and providing confidential, face-to-face medication therapy consultations and health and wellness guidance to people living and aging with HIV.

When it comes to engaging with a retail pharmacy, HIV patients of all ages need to feel they are in a safe, knowledgeable, environment where they can get the emotional, physical, social and financial support they need. Support is very important to this aging HIV population as they often experience social isolation resulting from having a lack of resources and the double stigma of older age (ageism) and an HIV-positive status.

Lawsuit alleges death caused by Danville CVS prescription error

skullandbonesLawsuit alleges death caused by Danville CVS prescription error

http://www.centralkynews.com/amnews/news/local/boyle/lawsuit-death-caused-by-danville-cvs-prescription-error/article_22c0e047-61b4-5ac1-abdf-ca888a60f17a.html

A Lincoln County man has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against CVS Pharmacy, alleging a wrong prescription filled at the Danville store led to his son’s death.

Jeff Wardlow, executor of the estate of Jeffrey Lee Wardlow of Stanford, filed the complaint last week in Boyle Circuit Court. It names CVS Pharmacy LLC in Frankfort and unknown employees as defendants.

According to the lawsuit, Jeffrey Wardlow was discharged from Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center on July 16 after being treated for a pulmonary embolism. Doctors at the hospital prescribed “a series of medications for him to take during his recuperation,” the complaint states.

The next day, Jeffrey Wardlow went to the CVS store on Second Street in Danville to get the prescriptions filled.

“Rather than deliver to Jeffrey the medications that had been prescribed for him, one or more CVS employees dispensed to him different medications — ones that had been prescribed to another patron of the CVS pharmacy,” the lawsuit maintains.

“Jeffrey did not realized he had been provided the wrong medications and for a period of approximately two days thereafter, took multiple does of the wrong medications.”

On July 19, Jeffrey Wardlow collapsed at the home of a family friend and was rushed by ambulance to Fort Logan Hospital in Stanford and then to Ephraim McDowell in Danville, the lawsuit states.

Jeffrey Wardlow remained hospitalized for the next 10 days before dying “as a result of cardiac arrest brought about by the medication error at CVS pharmacy,” the complaint alleges.

CVS has not yet responded to the allegations in the lawsuit, which was filed by Lexington attorney Stephen Amato.

The complaint seeks an unspecified amount of compensatory and punitive damages for Jeffrey Wardlow’s pain and suffering, death, loss of earning capactity, and medical and funeral expenses.

Cops charged after police body cams capture them killing homeless man

James Boyd, a 38-year-old homeless man, died in March after he was shot by a shotgun, bombarded with shots of nonlethal bean bags and was the target of flash-bang grenades following an hours-long standoff with police. The police said they were dealing with Boyd because he was breaking the law by camping in the Sandia Mountains above the city.

Video captured by officer helmet and body cams showed officers firing at the man, who had two small camping knives in his hand, when he turned his back and even while he was on the ground. As the man was face down after being shot, the authorities unleashed a police dog, which was seen mauling the victim’s leg.

Why do they call it tourist season.. if you can’t shoot them ?  Is there a “homeless season ” ?

If we could only fine the bureaucrats for lying to us ?

Cold Products Pay Millions for Misleading Consumers

http://www.moneylife.in/article/cold-products-pay-millions-for-misleading-consumers/40134.html

There is no cure for the common cold but that has not stopped several over-the-counter products from claiming to treat the viral infection so common this time of year.

But false and deceptive advertising carries a price. Here are a few recent cases where marketers were taken to task for making unsubstantiated claims about their product’s ability to both treat and prevent a cold.
The government, bureaucrats, judicial system can lie to the citizens… but.. if a company “lies” to people.. the government finds a new “revenue stream”.. profiting from liars ?

Dr. Mark Ibsen has been fighting the bureaucratic establishment in Montana for the last couple of years…over their BELIEF that he is over prescribing pain meds to patients.  He has no pts die from a overdose and he has been successful in reducing many pts’ pain with alternative therapies and reducing their total opiates at the same time.

In listening/reading statements from his current and previous pts.. he is nothing short of “Dr Welby” of the northwest.  The state of Montana has seemingly unlimited financial resources to carry on this inquisition of Dr Ibsen.. unfortunately, Dr. Ibsen doesn’t have an equal amount of unlimited financial resources to fend off this unrelenting attack by these ruthless bureaucrats.

The chief inquisitor – Attorney Fanning – brought in “experts” that are licensed by the same state of Montana as Dr. Ibsen… to testify against Dr Ibsen.

Normally in such situations,  you want “experts” from states outside of the one the testimony is being taken in.. so that there is little/no chance of the expert can feel intimidated having to testify before the same bureaucracy that controls their own professional license. If the bureaucracy is going after one of its own registrants… with questionable accusations… who would testify against the view/claims/beliefs of the inquisitor for fear of that same inquisitor “turning on you”… for not sharing the views/claims/beliefs and testifying in favor of the standards of care and helping DISPROVE the inquisitor’s case.

I have read a fair amount of the entire transcript of the “inquisition” of Dr. Ibsen and I came way thinking “what a crock ”

I did not start this fund raiser site and have no participation in it – other than contributing to it – but we need to get Attorneys and our judicial system out of interfering with the practice of medicine.  If this “practicing medicine with a license” by our judicial system has not directly/indirectly affected you yet.. be patient.. it will eventually..

Apparently FATAL ERRORS at the VA.. are just part of the system ?

VA pharmacists unpunished for serious — even fatal — errors dispensing drugs

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2015/jan/12/va-pharmacists-unpunished-for-serious-even-fatal-e/

Pharmacists who made serious or potentially fatal errors dispensing drugs at the VA in New Jersey kept their jobs and often weren’t even severely disciplined, according to testimony from their colleagues and other records.

One chemotherapy patient died after a 2001 overdose, but the pharmacist continued working for the VA for years, according to records obtained by The Washington Times under the Freedom of Information Act.

In another case, a pharmacist prescribed a potentially fatal dose of another medication, but neither that employee nor a supervisor, who also had a history of prescribing errors, was disciplined beyond being ordered to undergo counseling.
