  1. Yes, Steve, thanks so much for posting the link!!! I did my part and here is what I posted:

It is ludicrous to change Hydrocodone products to CII. Not only will it create problems for those people that really need it, but it will also increase the paper work and time required for physician offices to prescribe Hydrocodone and increase the paper work and time required for pharmacies to fill the prescriptions. On the surface, it seems advisable to move it to CII to help keep it out of the hands of addicts and drug traffickers. However, has this approach really worked in the past? I believe a case can be made that it has not worked in the past and will not likely work in the future. There are people with an inherited disposition to abuse drugs. These people will abuse something. If it is not one thing, then another. A case can be made that Hydrocodone is not actually addicting. This may sound ridiculous on the surface. But, there are lots of people that take high doses and never become addicted. It is only people with a certain predisposition that can be classified as ‘addicted’, and the case can be made that it is a psychological addiction because if it was not Hydrocodone it might be alcohol or another drug. The easy path is to restrict a drug. Never mind how this impacts the thousands of people that need it and how many problems it creates for them. And, at what point, will all drugs become CII? Sounds crazy? Look at the attention deficit drugs. Now we are talking about Hydrocodone. What will be next? It is time to move away from foolish regulations. It is an imperfect world and there will always be problems with drugs. You cannot regulate away human behavior.
