I have lived with chronic pain for a long time.I try and try to get off meds. But that doesn’t mean pain will be gone. Yesterday I had a spinal cord simulator surgically put in. Hopefully it will help. I’ve been fortunate with having understanding drs. Yes there is a big difference between an addict and those with chronic pain.
