Includes but not limited to…

This is a job listing for CVS that appeared recently.. For those of you who work for CVS.. I have outlined some of the important parts of your job description..

• Ensure compliance with all company procedures and federal and state laws, rules and regulations

They have put it in writing… your job description includes the above… so the next time that  you are told to do something that will cause or may cause you to break/violate any of the above…  If you find yourself in a position of not being able to comply because of fear of doing so… you are only following the details of your job descriptions to decline to do so. It would appear that they are telling you that you MUST COUNSEL patients on each Rx as required by Fed/State regs.

One thing that I have found useful when I temp.. I have downloaded all the Federal/State laws on to my IPhone as a *.pdf… I have universally backed off any supervisor when I can reproduce chapter/verse to support my decision.

  1. It seems to me that even if one follows all
the policies and procedures, laws etc. they
could very easily find ways to make you
want to quit or simply let you go. Bottom
line: if you do not get the rx’s out fast
enough with very minimal complaints it
will not be long before you are unemployed.
Try doing everything else properly and
still dispensing scripts fast enough to the
    patient’s and company’s satisfaction is
