Investigators: Major Rx fraud case foiled

Detectives say Guice called the pharmacies and placed the orders using legitimate doctors’ names, addresses and Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration numbers. Guice is also accused of giving false patient names and birth dates, Ray said.

Diverters disguised as “patients” using fake names/dob to obtain control drugs… who could have seen this coming ?

  1. I’ve worked in so many doctors’ offices (doing office work, not medical work) and I have called in SO MANY prescriptions, its not even funny. And its so easy to get a physician’s DEA #. Its easier than finding out someone’s social security number. I’m just surprised that in this day and age, she was able to call in a controlled substance to SO many places and it was done. And she needed no ID to pick them up?
