CVS Caremark to Pay $4.25 Million in Medicaid-Claim Settlement, DOJ Says

CVS Caremark Corp. (CVS) will pay $4.25 million to settle allegations that it knowingly did not reimburse Medicaid for prescription drug costs that were paid on behalf of beneficiaries, the U.S. Justice Department said Monday.


The lawsuit originated in 1999, CVS Caremark said. Pursuant to the settlement agreement, CVS said it “expressly denied engaging in any wrongful conduct and has settled the matter to avoid the expense and uncertainty of protracted litigation.”
