Civics 101 We the people

wethepeopleI hear from chronic pain pts and others with subjective diseases daily… not being able to get their medically necessary medications..

Some say that someone needs to sue someone… great idea.. except for the fact that you sue any of the BIG BOYS.. they have “hot & cold running attorneys” on retainer..  They would not think twice about committing tens of millions to try and financially bury anyone that tries to take them to task in the court system… and the case won’t see the light of day for minimum of five years.

A similar situation would evolve with our government.. if they don’t claim sovereign immunity  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sovereign_immunity_in_the_United_States

which basically means that our government can do whatever it damn pleases .. legal or illegal.. and it has no responsibility to anyone for its actions..  That being said.. the mission of the ACLU https://www.aclu.org/  is to sue the government when it breaks its own laws and our constitution against it citizens.

In this current administration we have seen the head of the IRS get by scott free with trying to intimidate non-profit groups whose political philosophy did not mesh with that of the administration.

Our current AG Holder has been charged with CONTEMPT OF CONGRESS..   NSA has been accused of monitoring about every piece of data that private citizens generate.. the list can go on and on and on … of miss-doings..  by high governmental officials.

All of these bureaucrats seem to have little memory of their oath to uphold the US Constitution…

We seem to be stuck with this two party system.. how many times have you heard someone say.. I voted for ……. seemed like the lesser of the evils.. Is that the best we can do is the lesser of the evils?

Just today it came out that Gov Rick Scott of FL.. seems to have changed his mind on participating in Obamacare http://www.myfoxtampabay.com/Clip/11083974/governors-evasions-coming-back-to-haunt-him  But why should he care about what pre-election campaign promises he made.. he can’t run again for Governor .. he is a lame duck.. and besides in four years if he runs for some other office .. the people will have forgotten all about his broken promises… and he will once again can “duck and weave” questions.

The same hold turn for Pres Obama… lame duck…

“The people” can write their elected officials and you will get back this nice boiler plate reply that MIGHT dance around the question you asked or the concern that you expressed.

This is my favorite satirical political ad from the last mid-term election. I think that it pretty much puts things into perspective.. In KY the recent McConnell/Grimes race spent 80 MILLION dollars to win a seat that has a salary of < 1 million over the next six years.

It is obvious by this ad.. and by the KY senate campaign that they firmly believe that money/advertising will buy elections. Maybe it is time for that to change.. Dollars don’t vote.. people vote..

There are 535 people that are the oil in the engine of the government.. that is 435 in the House of Representatives and 100 in the Senate. They control the purse strings of the US government.. and WE THE PEOPLE could control who are sitting in those seats.

In 22 months… 435 House members and 33-34 Senate members will be up for reelection… as well as electing a new President 🙂

All of those up for election are already focused on one thing.. getting reelected in 22 months. The closer we get to Labor day 2016.. the less they will pay attention to their basic job of running the country.

Remember… only people can vote.. not corporations… although there has been cases were dead people have voted.

Just like everyone of us fear the unknown… so do the politicians… there is a estimated 116 million chronic pain pts.. how many more with subjective diseases and how many healthcare professionals.. maybe 150 million .. if you don’t count their relatives ?

The last Presidential election only 126 million people voted and there was only 5 million between Obama and Romney  < 4% of the total vote..

How many of those 150 million voting people would like to see the DEA DE-FUNDED ? How many would like to see The Harrison Narcotic Act repealed ? How many would like to see MJ & MMJ made legal ?

I  understand that most all of the chronic painers are physically, emotionally, financially “bankrupt” and those in healthcare have the DEA over shadowing their license and their livelihood.  12 thousand DEA employees always looking to catch you at doing something wrong… even the most innocent mistake can be blown out of bounds.

If you could be assured that those things would happen .. would you vote for Mickey Mouse running in the “none of the above ” party?

WE THE PEOPLE could do that.. what we need is 6-12 people in each state to reach out to these incumbent politicians and their opponent.  WE THE PEOPLE generate the mother of all mailing lists and/or political blog/Face Book pages with the mother of  all number of “likes”.  Don’t have to even “like” the page.. just read it…

Those 6-12 people in each state approach the incumbent first.. tell him/her that they represent  a HUGE VOTING BASE and we tell incumbent that we want him/her to sign a pledge to do the items of things we want.. and that he/she will introduce or cosponsor and vote for such… and tell him/her that if he/she can’t sign a pledge that we will go to his opponent and ask the same pledge..  if he/she declines.. we vote the incumbent out.. just because we can.. and once in office we once again approach the newly elected bureaucrat.. this is what we want introduced… and if you don’t .. we put you in office.. we can take you out of office… don’t get too comfortable or make any long term housing commitments in the DC area.

After the election.. all we need is a couple of people to track each of these bureaucrats… what actions they take.. what bills they introduce… If they are good little public servants… we see that they get reelected..

You don’t have to show our AARP or NRA card.. just show up and vote.. for the politician that promised to agree with the wishes of WE THE PEOPLE.  If you are not registered to vote… do so.. register as a independent..

Remember… these elected officials are there to serve the people that voted them into office.. we are not asking for anything that should not be outside of the boundaries of common sense.. and if  YOU DO NOTHING …. YOU GET NOTHING…

  1. Rk…gotta remember in the class actions though, it’ the lawyers that get the big payouts..which is unfortunate for the plaintiffs. But I’m all for some sort of class action if it gets the discrimination stopped.

    • Not necessarily. I know someone who got almost 200,000 for her piece of a class action, suit and have read about others similar. I mean id be happy w anything,i just dont understand, why this hasnt been done yet to,stop this madness.

  2. 12,000 DEA agents and I have not heard of one big heroin bust in the last year. So what are the actually doing with their time.

    • It is reported that > 50% of the 12,000 SIT AT A DESK.. doing desk audits.. and generating press releases… in 1971 when the BNDD started there was 1500 agents at the Federal level. USA population has increased 50% from 1970 to today. where the number of employees have increased EIGHT FOLD ?

    • Going after pain patients and innocent ppl is what their doing instead of catching criminals.w why can’t.
Someone be sued,as a class action, suit dont u hear,of all these big companies paying out millions to people who have been, injured by their, drugs whats the difference here of suing for making is all, suffer by,denying us our prescriptions?and treating us like junkies and discrimination . id be ok if i got money so,i,never had to work again and live without financial stress, in fact im sure thatd make my pain alot more bearable.

  3. really fudging the facts here about the irs and eric holder to much fox news.

  4. It IS civics 101. We are not powerless if we assemble like you suggest.

We do have to deal with the opiophobes who are well funded. But facts are facts, and they are on our side.

Thank you Steve for presenting this in this way.
