Workplace Fairness

As I have written before and it is no big secret. We Pharmacists and most employees for that matter…. are pretty dumb about work environment laws/rules/regulations. It would seem that more and more mangers are tending to move their “style” of management towards intimidation and threats to get an employee to do most anything.. Often, what we are requested to do is questionably legal and/or ethical. As as many of us know, management does things in ways that when things go wrong, most likely, the employee ends up being determined to be “at fault”. Employers also knows that discharging an employee for refusing to break a law… can be very costly.. Even in “at will” states, discharging an employee for refusing to so something illegal… does not fall under the discharge for any reason in a “at will” state.
