War declared on SICK & ELDERLY

No, the Republican healthcare bill does not protect preexisting conditions

G.O.P. Bill Would Make Medical Malpractice Suits Harder to Win

Many different entities (state legislatures, insurance companies, medical practices) are imposing days supply – up to 7 days – that opiates can be prescribed for acute pain.

Many insurance companies are requiring PRIOR AUTHORIZATION on all opiates and have REMOVED PRIOR AUTHORIZATIONS on Suboxone and other medications used to treat addiction.

Prescribers refusing to diagnose pts with the need of palliative care to be able to prescribe more than daily mgs limits

Just like school yard bullies that pick on the weak, meek and the easily intimidated…  the “medical school yard” seems to have amassed a “army of bullies”.

It has been reported in surveys that 90% of the families that have a chronic pain pt… are struggling financially because one spouse can’t work and/or the cost of therapy/treatment.

Generally, the chronic pain pts are physically, mentally, financially exhausted and if there is still a spouse around – a lot of divorces among chronic painers – that has to “pick up the slack – because of the physical limitations of the chronic painer…  Making them have less time to “put up a fight” against the discrimination that chronic painers are experiencing

  2. I am surprised that the public is eating this “Opioid crisis” up. Does anyone else see what PROP did with it’s anti Opioid campaign of false info?
Addiction specialists decided that people who suffer from intractible pain should not be given pain medicine. They falsely tout “Opioid induced hyperalgesis” as one reason (not a proven phenomenon), addiction (less than 2% of pain patients get addicted – Cochran review 2010), chance of overdose (27 years on high doses and I’ve never OD’d. Plus, it’s a risk I’m willing to take to participate in life).

So, addiction specialists want pain patients off long term opiates for pain while giving lifetime opiates (Suboxone and Methadone) to Heroin addicts!
In today’s society you’ll get more help for not following the law, seeking a way to escape reality while lying, stealing and doing ANYTHING to get wasted than you will if you are disabled by a painful disease or injury.

Take pain medicine from patients in pain and give them to junkies. Makes sense to me.

  3. Cigna is also offering “incentives” to doctors who sign their “opioid pledge” and reduce the amount of prescription opioids to Cigna’s. I recently read that prescription opioids have been reduced among Cigna’s customers by 12% (I was one of them – meaning there’s a lot of people suffering out there). They’re hoping to make it 25%. Forcing humans to suffer agony for profit …Do no harm, my ass!

  4. This exactly why I am having a physically painful aweful time getting diagnosed properly,,ie,,”chronic pancreatitis,” for ,”they ” know,,,it will require opiates for life!!!!!!!!and why no-one will go back in w/a camera to see it and thus record it as chronic pancreatitis,,,,not to mention all the damage done from a misdiagnoses,,of ,”artifact,” from a spinal cord tumor removed,,,We take pictures every day of the swelling and bruising of my back exactly where the pancreas,,if swollen would be pushing up against my back,,and videos of puking and puking my medicine up,,,,someone is gonna pay for this 1,,.,this time!!!maryw
