  1. Ed B, I think your assumptions are correct. There is not anything promising for pharmacy on the horizon. The chains have gone crazy and are constantly cranking out silly things for us to do. They have no sense of reason anymore. Everything is policy and procedure and a pharmacist can get caught in some little nit picking thing and be fired. There is no such thing as job security. There are no worker rights. We are pawns of the chains and with the looming over supply of pharmacists, we will ever become more and more expendable.

  2. I have talked about how pharmacy is going to continue to crumble as a profession as schools of pharmacy crank out the new graduates and cost cutting measures by the chains and mail order reduce the need for pharmacist. Pharmacy is a fast fading profession, regardless of what the schools say. And those lucky enough to have jobs, must jump through higher hoops. I am ashamed as a pharmacist in how weak and ineffective pharmacists and pharmacy organizations have been. I think it is now too late!

  3. That’s got to be a joke. How could any job that requires us to work 13-14 hours without a break get good scores on work environment? Low stress when EVERY move is timed. Someone was either hit on acid or corporate kool aid when they came up with those numbers.

  4. Did you notice that the work environment for a pharmacist was better than an optometrist? How can that be? Ever hear of an optometrist working 10 to 14 hour days?

  5. I’d like to see whomever wrote this stand for 8 1/2 hours a day and be yelled at by patients when you finally get that blessed 30 minutes off your feet. “What is she doing just sitting there?!”

  6. Did you see the scores for “stress” and “physical demand” suggesting this job is a piece of cake? This article is bogus.

  7. That whole article is baloney!
