When the drugstore chain first revealed more than a year ago it was sizing up the long-vacant, former Apple Tree supermarket at 4949 Santa Monica Avenue as a potential outlet, CVS made it clear it would only do so if alcohol was a part of its retail offerings.

  1. All of our Walgreens didnt sell alcohol until a few years ago, but CVS’ always have all the way back to the orignail Hook’s Drug Store chains who had the oringial liquor licenses in Indiana. No I dont ever see them giving up the liquor licenses….which made them such hypochrites on the cigarette thing…both legal products…both cause health issues…yet such a huge BS statement on caring about the health of their customers…NOT

  2. CVS doesn’t want to sell cigarettes, but alcohol? No problem. Perhaps it’s because Walgreens sells alcohol too? In Houston, TX, my local Walgreens didn’t sell alcohol, but here in New Mexico, it does.
