Is this another one of those.. we will have to pass it.. so you can find out what is in it ?

Hell’s fury is just about to be unleashed in Ohio. Effective 3/1/15, Medicaid is now going to block certain pharmacies from filling Medicaid funded prescriptions…. This will the first time ever we will have to tell customers we do not take their plan. This directly affects me because my child is United Healthcare, I am not happy… I can no longer use my own pharmacy to fill his prescriptions if I want them paid. This could adversely affect tech hours as it is going to be a sucker punch to our business.

I am not kidding when I say I just spoke to a doctor’s office who told me I have to interview with their scheduling office for them to determine if they will take me as a client… it is because they are no longer taking Caresource, Buckeye and other Medicaid funded insurance plans. I have insurance through my employer which is a privately funded third party so they would be happy to have me as a new patient.

The fed funding for state medicaid expansion was ended on december 31. States will collectively be experiencing no less than a 720 billion dollar shortfall. My guess is this why your pharmacy was eliminated. It would be sweet irony if all 50states did this to the big 3chains. Maybe they would think twice before supporting crap legislation like obamacare next time

They never said … “if you like your pharmacy… you can keep your pharmacy …”

  1. We did fine before health insurance..it was after WWII it became tied to the employer…it was a perk to get workers. I remember as a kid, my dad was a graduate student until I was 12, we did not have health insurance (except when I was born and he was active duty military). My parents paid everything out of pocket. Even after he finished school, his insurance was major medical, they still paid out of pocket deductible, but they didn’t have to file bankruptcy to be in the hospital. I believe we need some type of responsible insurance reform.but..get them and the PBMs out between the physician and the patient relationship. Tort reform is needed, Insurance reform is needed….I agree with keeping them from dropping you for pre existing conditions.

Totally against the ALL MUST purchase mandate…The arguement they used about everyone must purchase auto insurance is bogus…..because only people who own/drive cars must purchase auto insurance….if you don’t drive or own a car, you don’t need auto insurance…..Many people in very large cities (like NYC) dont have auto insurance…they don’t own a car or drive…no place to park one…too expensive….(auto insurance is either on the car itself or on the driver…it depends on the insurance….mine is on the vehicle itself, my husband’s old policy before we were married was on the driver, so I had to be added to his insurance to drive his truck…)

  2. Blame Obamacare if you want — but it’s not like our health care industry was in great shape before the ACA, so expecting the law to make things better seems a little like wishful thinking.

Me? I’m blaming the insurance companies. Why do we need insurance companies for health care? We’re not cars…
