DIGEST

Controlled substance dispensing. Requires a pharmacy and pharmacist to sell or dispense a controlled drug in schedule II (controlled drug) in a lockable vial and bill the controlled drug manufacturer for the cost of the lockable vial. Prohibits billing the patient for the cost of the lockable vial. Provides for immunity from liability for a pharmacy, pharmacy personnel, and pharmacist in certain circumstances.
who believes that this vial is going to be HAMMER PROOF ?  Instead of someone stealing a few doses from someone – hoping that they don’t realize they are gone… they will just STEAL THE ENTIRE BOTTLE..

  1. The digest changed. Now it’s that no pharmacy can dispense schedule II drugs if they don’t offer the vial to the client, not requiring it. Methinks they got some blowback on that.

“Controlled substance dispensing. Provides that a pharmacy or pharmacist may not sell or dispense a controlled drug in schedule II unless the pharmacy or pharmacist offers to sell or dispense the drug to the patient or patient’s representative in a lockable vial. Provides for immunity from liability for a pharmacy, pharmacy personnel, and pharmacist in certain circumstances.”

  2. How is that going to work for people with arthritis or other hand or strength issues who need easy open caps?

Any hardware store would have a pipe cutter (the kind used on both metal or PVC pipes) to just spin around the bottle to slice it open.

  3. I wonder what the connection is between the Bills author/sponsors and the company that makes these. Or are they fronting it for another politician as a political favor..

I hope Pharmacist Steve lets us know the outcome of this bill.

    • That’s my exact thoughts on the lockable vials, how much kickbacks from the sells will they each receive or their families or buddies. What fucking morons sit around and think this SHIT up. This is what your tax dollars are paying for, their getting money out of it somehow or somewhere.

  4. So when if / when this fails….will be another blow to cpp’s as this will be used to bolster untruthful claims against ‘Pain Patients’ just as numbers of misuse/selling. This is nothing that a drill press, vice grip, hammer or even a vehicle rolling over a bottle wouldn’t be able to do away with, in realitivly short order. The answers are in front of their faces….plain as day. DEA and other agencies STOP the illegal use of Medication, drug sells and stop the influx of Illegal drugs coming into our country, virtually unfettered. Shouldn’t it be top priority to STOP the illegal drugs? JMO…

  5. LOL what a waste of money! What’s that going to do? A Hammer……..SMASH! Oh Brother…..

  6. OMG,,,DAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH,,,,sadly they really do think were 2 year old,,,wow,,,,maryw
