I have been maintaining and adding to my blog for over 10 yrs .. I have actually lost count. There has always seem to be some infighting within the chronic pain community. Over the last few years, the in fighting has been escalated from in fighting to attempting to be down right DISRUPTIVE.
The community is – and been for decades – dealing with bureaucrats/politicians that regardless of what facts and studies that contradict their “facts” and their “agenda” they are not going to change their policies and procedures. They are going to continue to prevent people who have a valid medical necessity for being prescribed opiates and controlled substances from getting their needed medications.
These bureaucrats probably feel very emboldened about continuing to curtail the prescribing of opiates and controlled substances, because some within the community is trying to just tear the community apart. They have little concern about the community attempting to change the path that the bureaucrats/politicians are one… because the community is too busy destroying itself from within.
They are going to use such number as within this decade, illegal drugs/substances from cartels will kill MORE OF OUR CITIZENS… than all our soldiers that were killed in all the years of wars in the LAST CENTURY. Recently, I have read where “they” are admitting that the vast majority of OD/poisoning are from illegal fentanyl analogs… but… they still use their 5 decade old fact “all addicts stated with Rx opiates”
Only those within the community can put a end to this disruptive behavior… If those in the community continue to support, align and otherwise condone the actions of those who are doing this… things will not only remain… it will most likely get worse and those doing the disrupting will only get more aggressive, until the community has self destructed.

Until we get a Patient Bill of Rights passed, encompassing everything from Preventative Care all the way to Chronic as well as Palliative Pain Care, we are all just pissing in the wind!! Covering Veterans being able to get 2nd opinions & 1st rate CA TX therapy & most recent, experimental trials available w/new immunotherapy & FDA approved for decades proven safe Opioids for pain upon request especially if Chronic or CA pt has been previously force tapered or cut off completely. Those pts should be restarted on their formerly successful pain management regimines again, immediately. Then the OD deaths should start to decline because with proper care from their PCP’S & ONCOLOGISTS, NO ONE NEEDS TO GO TO THE STREETS YOU DAMN FOOLS!!
jmo,,,sadly,,many cpp really do need their medicines to lessen that physical pain from a physical medical condition..I even had 1 commentator state,,she went to the streets,got a good source for heroin,and she will never use anything else for her medical physical pain,for heroin worked fantastic on her physical pain from medical condition.Now,,in England,,over the pond,,heroin is legally prescribed by doctors,,over here,,no way,,,My point is,,,when the system fails,,people make their own system,,,and TRUTH truly dictates,,,no-one can physically feel physical pain of another,,thus,,no-one has the rite to decide how much u should forcible suffer via denial of MEDICINE,, to lessen that physical pain effectively,,,,Thats the truth we USE TO operate under,,because it IS TRUE,, but politicians saw only $$$$$$,,,i believe started by the kolodny mob,,We gotta get it back to truth,,or every generation after us,,will be forced to literally die in agony like us,,,jmo,,maryw
JMO,, unless a advocates motive is pure,,meaning,,soul goal is to allow any humanbeing thee amount of medicine,that will effectively lessen that person physical pain from ANY medical condition,,that is physical pain,again,mindful of heart/bp,,for me,,that is a advocate for the cause.A person truly vested in helping the weakest amonst us in society,those of us who did NOT choose their physically painful conditions,,We are not here to be liked,or a popularity contest,thus a un-pure motive.Personally i see it more as a weeding out the control freaks,,weeding out the non-pure advocates,The ones who motives wasn’t to advocate for the freedom of a effective dosages,no matter how much,they were not advocating to help the weakest amongst us,,thus again their motive was never pure,,It is true,it takes a pain patient to know what it is like to be a pain patient,,but some i have witness, really were about control,about who was ,”worthy”..I even had 1 tell me,when i had my medicine at effective dose,,,i wasn’t a thoracic pain patient because i vacuumed,I kicked it to move it,,or because i trimmed my horses feet,,I did it lying down next to her,whilst she lied down w/ a horse hoof gage for angle,,,VERY VERY DANGEROUS,,but true patient are tough buggers,we will try to function however we can,when we have medicine,,but to my point,this pain patient really thought they had that right to JUDGE ME,, thus believing she had the right to judge others,,and that for me,is exactlly the same mentality that got us into this deadly experimentel mess..I think their are some,who actually contributed to this mess,who judge patients,wrongfully or judge doctors in hospital settings,,saying thing like behind their backs ,”that patient didn’t need that much,or he prescribe to much,,but in their opinion,,this is rite dose,,AGAIN,, displaying their need for control,,,,thats not advoacy,ITS BADRAPPING.,I have heard some in the medical field state,they would judge patients before surgery,then give them a cocktail of psychotropics mixed w/ a opiate to knock them out for surgery,based upon ,’their judgement,” never getting permission or telling the patients,,AGAIN,, those who make those JUDGEMENTS, are they same as those who think they have that rite to decide ,how much,” base opon a personal judgement,not what the patient medical factual needed,,displaying nonadvocacy ,but the need for control,,,Personally,,i think we are weeding out the control freak’s,,verses the Sincerely pure at heart,who’s only goal,is to give the medically ill in physical pain what they truly need to live life again,,,Also proving,,combining a MENTAL

Very true. It drives me crazy that the community can’t get together in a conflict where the sides can be so clearly drawn –us (chronic pain community) versus them (Kolodny & kompany, the DEA, CDC, bureaucrats, etc). So many chronic painers are so hung up on gathering power &/or popularity among their own ‘followers’ that they’ve redifined the us & them so that it’s more 3-sided; the anti-opioid zealots, the power-grabbers in the CP community, & the rest of the CP community. And the factions of the power-grabbers are myriad. We will NEVER get change in our favor as long as we’re too busy squabbling among ourselves to fight the people that we should be fighting.
