  1. I’m a Chronic Pain Patient. I’ve read so often, “We need to band together.” But what does that mean, what do we do and where do we go to “Band Together” ?? Some folk have urged others to join together on Facebook and/or Twitter. Not everyone is on social media. So how do those individuals “Band Together” if their only sources of seemingly banding with something greater than themselves is out of reach? (For whatever reason, so Don’t Judge!) IMO, one way we can band together is through protests of business such as CVS, Wal-Greens, Wal-Mart and etc who discriminate against the Chronic Pain Patient and those with Chronic Illness. We don’t even sneak in for so much as a loaf of bread. We send a letter of our protest to the respective Corporate Offices and that we shall not be a customer of any type and thusly encourage our family and friends to take part until their discriminating policies towards Chronic Patients are changed and they at least follow the CDC Guidelines. I’ve never been a Wal-Mart Pharm customer but I no longer shop at Wal-Mart. I have also found an independent pharmacy several counties away that are great and they also FedEx next day my meds. All of them. The LGBTQ community implanted bans to further their cause. We are every bit as worthy to be treated with humanity and respect. Not all of us can travel for protests. Not all of us can afford donations to Pain Causes. But we can all do this.
    Thank you for your time.

    • I totally agree. Hit them in the wallet! I too cannot travel or spend cash on donations but if we all do what you say!! “Not even a loaf of bread”
      Thank

      • I’m glad someone agrees. If you’re on social media spread this idea there. I actually want to copy this letter written by the AMA to attach (or try to,at least, LoL) on some FB posts I’ve seen. We can all do this. And if you have supportive people on your life show them the letter as well and encourage them to make shopping changes. But be sure you inform chosen stores you (and hopefully others) are refusing to shop. Money and the lack thereof is a powerful motivator.
        Take care…

  2. It was around 7 o’clock pm, Tuesday, 10/02/2018′ the pharmacist at Sams Club in Clearwater, Fl. told me that they are no longer accepting “patients” who need schedule 2 medications. He said each store determines a quota amount they want to dispense. I told him that I was a sams club customer, not a patient. He looked at me with suspicion and walked away. According to the WHO, my schedule 2 pain medication is classified as an essential medication. How is this Sams Club policy going to help anybody?
It may be smarter to just go under the radar. Have a plan to activate something really dramatic if one gets “caught”. This paranoia is taking it’s toll.

  3. Cut your business to all the chains! Don’t buy anything! Take all your scripts to alike minded independent pharmacy that you know is on your side! They are everywhere!
Just think if 1.6 million Medicare pain patients were to draw a line and say WE have had enough of their bs.
Pharmacists are not M.D. s so why are they acting like one and making you and your families life miserable!
It is the best thing I’ve done! My meds are delivered to my door every 28 days and the pharmacist asked me if I had any preferences as to the manufacturer of my pain meds. Imagine THAT??
Do it today. Tell them why and never go back. If we all do it they will be rethinking there ignorant
Ways!!! Don’t be shy. It doesn’t matter how long you have been going there they think they won’t miss you. If we all do it they will miss you! I promise
