It’s finally happened to me. After 20 years with CRPS from a crush injury to both legs and feet my primary told me that in May his medical malpractice liability insurance won’t cover him if he continues to prescribe Opioids. I knew this could happen, but I was always praying for a miracle until it did. My legs/feet feel like someone has poured burning acid on them. I have been on everything (failed nerve blocks, all types of Opioids, 2008 a failed Spinal Cord Stimulator Operation, etc.) T
The only thing that ever worked was 150 mcg of GEL RESERVOIR FENTANYL patches. Last Oct. they discontinued them in favor of ADHESIVE MATRIX patches which don’t work past Day 1 because the Fentanyl is so mixed in with the gummy, sticky adhesive, it’s poorly absorbed by the skin! I live in a teeny town of 730 people and my primary gave me names of 3 Pain Clinics. After reading pain patients blogs, and that this one pain clinic doctor who treats CRPS WITH KETAMINE AND STEROID SHOTS, I AM TERRIFIED! Ketamine isn’t recommended for CRPS because it’s only 30-40% effective, it’s for short-term pain and causes hallucinations, memory loss, seizures, etc.
CPP’S say the steroid shots can cause another painful condition called ARACHNOIDITIS. My primary is in a bubble and thinks these doctors will fix me up and prescribe my Fentanyl. Not from what I’ve read.
I’M ASKING YOU STEVE AND ANY OTHER PERSON WHO HAS CRPS TYPE 2 THAT FEELS LIKE BURNING ACID HAS BEEN POURED ON YOU—- IS THERE ANYTHING OUT THERE THAT COULD HELP ME AND THIS PAIN??? I DON’T WANT TO HAVE TO KILL MYSELF! CAN ANYONE HELP ME???
Without recommending them, even if I was a doctor, if you can, investigate Magnesium, antihistamine and amitriptyline. Some foods and even vitamins make me more sensitive. Vitamin-C in making me healthier makes me feel the burn from canal stenosis more, eggs as well. I have dealt with bloating and poor digestion/bathroom issues, rather severe, successfully with chewing fennel seed. God bless you.
Not TOO MUCH salt, not zero, but not too much, zero monosodiumglutimate (MSG), not too much sugar, research low glycemic diet.
Cannabis
Kratom
Poppies (grow them)
Google Dr Tennant and his neuroinflammation protocol
Even if you fine a fentanyl prescriber
They are unlikely to be around long enough to help you fir very long.
