This family lived in Florida and the hospital involved is John Hopkins All Children Hospital in St Petersburg, FL https://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/all-childrens-hospital This story is apparently not that unusual where parents take their child to an emergency room and the parents are charged with child abuse abuse and one or both parents are charged with child abuse and possibly jailed and the kid(s) put into foster care. This appears to be a classic example of various parts of a “state’s system” – medical practitioners, judicial system, bureaucrats – with apparently good intentions – goes seriously off the rails.
