Association of American Physicians and Surgeons Sues FDA for “Irrational” Interference of Access to Life-Saving Hydroxychloroquine

The Association of American Physicians and Surgeons (https://aapsonline.org) filed a lawsuit against Department of Health and Human Services and the FDA for “irrational interference” by the FDA with timely access to hydroxychloroquine.

Never in history have we seen such a determined effort by the scientific community and pharmaceutical industry to downplay and lie about the use of a successful drug to treat a deadly disease.

Hydroxychloroquine is the first choice in a study of 6,000 doctors treating the coronavirus.
In the field and in independent testing hydroxychloroquine displayed amazing results in treating the COVID-19 virus.

But there was great pushback against hydroxychloroquine for two reasons. The first reason was because it was safe and very inexpensive. The second reason is because Donald Trump promoted its use.

It is not a stretch to say the Democrat establishment would rather see people die than see President Trump be proven right.

So the so-called experts went to great lengths to lie and smear the use of this drug as we have discussed previously.

I smell insurance industry interference in this issue… the medication hydroxychloroquine can still be prescribed by prescribers “off label”  What everyone may run into is that the insurance industry will not recognize it being prescribed off label but will most likely declare that it is an “experimental treatment” and refuse to pay for the therapy. There are some other things going on in the “background”, but this is the first time I have heard the FDA coming out with this sort of order

  1. Did you guys ever stop to consider that the US Govt is currently in the business of genocide of its populace? Why else would they put the brakes on life saving medicine? When people actually realize that their govt is in the business of ending their worthless asses then some headway might be made. Until then, make sure your upper neck is clear of debris, so when the guillotine falls it will make a perfect cut…

  2. Rarely does the insurance industry pushback against a “safe and inexpensive” treatment in favor of more expensive alternatives (eg penny-pinching $5 on a cheap drug only to later owe $15,000 for ventilation). Also, insurers compete with one another, and do not make universal coverage decisions. Guess I’m not following the logic here.

Nor am I tracking the strange bedfellows here: the “Democrat establishment” and the “insurance industry” lined up to oppose the use of hydroxychloroquine. It’s not often one finds these two camps on the same side, but we live in interesting times I guess.

  3. That’s great they caught the HCQ gravy train… Someone there should get quoted or published or somehow paid. Too bad they missed the “Irrational” Interference of Access to Life-Saving Opiates train…

  4. A citizens group could still file such a complaint against HHS (the main administrative arm overseeing CDC). Fraud is fraud. Most of the readers and Pharmacy Steve know the CDC “analysts” admitted to combining illicit drug use (offshore Fentanyl or Heroin) with legit Rx prescriptions. The entire “study” was meant to confuse citizens and government elected officials.

Certainly, it could still be done, @iamfbch!

  5. I have wondered for ever why this wasnt done when this nonsense started with pain medication. Why didnt anyone stand up to these “experts” when they went after doctors trying to treat there patients?
