In less than ONE MONTH.. two RPH’s have been shot/killed in a pharmacy.
“Death by drug” the DEA won’t count ?

Police identified the victims in Monday’s double shooting as Rite Aid pharmacist Michael Addo, 35, of Mason, and East Lansing resident Jordan Daniel Rogers, 27.
“We are extremely saddened by the loss of our team member, who was tragically killed today in a shooting” at the Rite Aid location, Rite Aid spokesman Ashley Flower said. “We are fully cooperating and working closely with the authorities regarding this matter.”
There is little being released about this.. other than the Pharmacist was shot in the consulting room. I wonder if any of the chain stores are going to take any actions to help prevent such a situation from happening again.. or.. employees are otherwise expendable just like any other piece of “broken equipment”.
Once again, I wonder if the family of Michael Addo hopes that law enforcement increases expenditures in fighting the war on drugs.. as if 51 billion spent annually .. hasn’t already caused enough collateral damage.

Bet there’s also a confidential settlement agreement to be signed by the surviving family for the insurance money so they don’t sue the chain.
Rite aid probably as well as all chains do have life insurance on all their employee pharmacists and that is the reason why they could care about any of their employee getting killed, because, they cash in the policy.
All pharmacist should be checking that there is no life policy taken out on them by their employee esp. those of you that work for wally
This sickens me to hear of a innocent man doing his job getting shot and killed over pills. This is why I have no feelings for the murderer that was put to death by lethal injection and it took a while for him to die. That small time it took for him to die means nothing after taking a innocent life of a young girl.
This same thing will happen with this murderer ,he will sit in jail for years getting free medical care. If found guilty the U.S. needs to make the death penalty swift and be done with it and not wait years later because of appeals.
Last night a 24 hour CVS Harrisburg Pa area was robbed at gunpoint…email sent to the district from that store stated the robber got away with just under $7000.00 in narcotics….the email stated nothing about the wellbeing of staff. It was stated that it appeared the bad guy knew where the cameras were located and did his best to keep away from them.
These stores have no panic buttons, however the Minute Clinics have them. I know for a fact that the Harrisburg East Shore 24 hour location many nights has only one front store employee along with the RPH. This location has cameras all over the place to watch staff and babysit Script Pro, but no way to react when seconds count.
One should use common sense of course. I have had a defensive weapon at locations extremely dangerous. Although not allowed by employer at this site, it was only common sense that I took the inititive to carry at this location. Several months later, the Apts. were raided and drugs, assault weapons and other criminal warrants were served. The authorities called it a small arsenal.

It’s obvious the suits at the top probably never ever had to physically face the family of the employee/customer they felt was so expendable. Their way of thinking is they can’t lose the inventory and so what if an employee is harmed, their spot can be replaced by another person, and a customer…oh there are plenty of those out there in the world. I remember a few years ago a Kroger incident in Indy where the manager was carrying and killed the robber in the store because he was going to (I think) shoot a customer….Kroger tried to fire him for carrying and there was a real public uproar and threats of boycotts of said store, I don’t think Kroger was able to fire him. When seconds count, the police are minutes away and no state of the art surveillance system is going to stop the ‘bad guy’.

Here is a quote from a Walgreen’s spokesperson about a RPh that was legally carrying and returned fire on a armed robber..
We’ve made significant investments in security technology in recent years, including increasing the number of digital surveillance cameras at our stores,” the company said. “We continue to invest in state-of-the-art security measures and high-definition surveillance equipment and hope that the apprehension of robbery suspects in the Benton Harbor area will prevent future crimes.”
By this quote.. it would appear that the chains – at least WAGS – is more interested in potentially identifying the “crook”.. with their high-tech cameras.. and any employee/customer that gets harmed/killed is unfortunate.
Even if firearm instruction was granted CE.. I doubt if any chain employer would allow you to carry while at work..
I had my own store for 20 yrs and it was no big secret that was “packin’ ” and in those 20 yrs.. I was never held up..
So… tell me now what my answer should be to the state BOP secretary who asked me if firearm instruction should be given continuing education credit.
