I can’t say that I am unhappy about this “gutter scum” being corralled. That being said, I am concerned about some unexpected “collateral damage”. Anytime that a “void” that may be as large as Trump is creating, someone will try to capitalized on all that money – that could be made.
Possibilities is that a untold number of addicts will be thrown into hard/cold turkey withdrawal – which addicts call “dope sick”. How many will die? How many will try whatever illicit crap that is being sold on the streets and maybe die? Will there be a uptick of pharmacies being robbed ?
Could pts leaving a pharmacy – especially a elderly pt walking from the pharmacy to their car in the parking lot- get their meds stolen and/or car jacked?
I wonder if the local news will cover any of these things – if they happen?

Nature abhors a vacuum and numerous people that were under Maduro are vying to become President if they don’t place the legitimate winner of the election in to place. I imagine that it’s business as usual for drug traffickers up here as there are plenty of other countries drugs are smuggled from. The Real Evil here is prohibition. If all drugs could be legally purchased from any pharmacy without a prescription, but maybe a consultation of some sort for the legal aged buyer for the first time, to ensure they know the causality of what ever drug they are buying, and sign a liability waiver to protect the pharmacist from being sued if something happens, then go on their merry way. There would be an abrupt decline in overdoses with pharmaceutical grade drugs and many of them are cheap as pseudoephedrine or vitamin B. There would be a decline of hard drug use just like the decline in liquor consumption after prohibition. If they would simply snort the drug and not use needles that would reduce overdose rates as well, if they think that they snorted too much, they could flush their sinuses out in the sink. The world would be a better place, especially for Chronic pain sufferers. Chronic pain sufferers could get a six month prescription for a drug or drugs that doesn’t limit how much they can take in a day and the prescription would negate any silly taxes that would be imposed upon the recreational users. Diacetylmorphine is way better and cheaper than oxycodone and with its six minute half-life it is safer to use. Nasal Insufflation of opioid analgesics should be allowed and not looked down upon as it is the fastest possible way short of intravenous injection. When opioid analgesics are administered in pill form 30-40% of it is excreted with solid waste, and the rest circulates through the blood stream after absorption through the stomach lining and the liver and kidneys work immediately metabolizing it and excreting it into the bladder respectively. Employers should not be able to legally terminate the employment of an employee over self medicating, that being said employees who are repeatedly impaired should require psychological treatment. Violent crime would just about cease to exist if all drugs were legal and available for purchase at the nearest pharmacy and if people are not losing their jobs over drug metabolites in their urine there will be significant declines in violent crimes like theft, robbery, etc because desperate people do desperate things. Drugs and alcohol have been humanity’s friend for thousands of years and only in the last century Protestants, and ignorant/racist people/politicians/law enforcement agencies have destroyed our culture and deprived us of our basic human rights and liberties guaranteed by the constitution. The 21st century is now the worst time in human history to suffer from chronic pain, cancer pain, and any other painful conditions and illnesses . People are being poisoned by illegal drugs, dying, being incarcerated for simply possessing a substance, and worst of all the bulk of the population has no empathy for the suffering chronic pain patients or the pitiful addicts dogs get more attention and empathy than we the suffering who have worked hard our whole lives until we couldn’t and now we are just shells of our former selves who don’t get proper medical treatment and have to wait years to get social security disability benefits and even then we struggle with personal hygiene, getting dressed, putting socks on, and some of us can’t even wipe our own asses because of the stiffness and the pain and when we’re out in public we carry the stigma of disability and/or prescription opioid use. Some people think you’re high but in reality it’s the pain that impairs us and if one of us is blessed with enough mu-opioid agonists we can think clear as day, as pain is like being subjected to constant deafening noise that won’t stop until you take opioids and they mute the noise and it is like a clear blue sky in the country side. I hate the HHS, CDC, DEA, FDA, and all the other corrupt, cruel, inhumane, and Unconstitutional laws and regulations that sadistic invertebrates don’t abolish and constantly grow worse and worse, I wish a large meteorite would come down and destroy them all in DIRTY CITY so we can have our liberty back!

Venezuela was a very wealthy country and is an excellent example of what happens when a socialist dictator takes over(watch out New York City).
