Lawmakers slam DEA for targeting Mass. doctors

The US Drug Enforcement Administration’s push to get Massachusetts doctors out of the medical marijuana business drew the ire of members of Congress Wednesday, with one California lawmaker accusing the agency of creating an “atmosphere of fear” among physicians.
US Representative Dana Rohrabacher, a California Republican, was commenting on the agency’s ultimatum to Massachusetts physicians to sever all ties to marijuana companies or relinquish their federal licenses to prescribe certain medications. He called the action short-sighted during a conference call with national news organizations.
“What they are doing, obviously, is not only suppressing doctors, but wasting resources,” said Rohrabacher, who sponsored a measure approved by the House last month to restrict the DEA from using its funding to impede state medical marijuana laws. “If they want to fight crime, let’s use those resources to hire police to come and do more patrols in neighborhoods where there is high crime.”

The problem is an epidemic Nationwide! We the people of the United States should not have to put up with bull crap like this! We are unable to be treated for Chronic Pain because of the DEA AND GOVERNMENT CRACKING DOWN ON PHYSICIANS AND FORBIDDING THEM THE RIGHT TO TREAT THEIR PATIENTS WHO ARE TRULY IN SEVERE PAIN! THE DOCTORS HAVE BEEN THREATENED WITH LOSING THEIR LICENSE? IT IS TIME FOR PEOPLE TO START NOTICING THAT “WE NEED HELP MR.PRESIDENT!”
JUST BECAUSE THERE ARE DRUG ABUSERS OUT THERE~ SHOULD NOT AFFECT THE MILLIONS OF AMERICANS INTHIS COUNTRY WHO WAKE UP DAILY INCONSTANT AND CHRONIC PAIN DUE TO MANY DISEASES! SEPTEMBER IS CHRONIC PAIN AWARENESS MONTH! DO WE NEED TO WEAR A T-SHIRT?
MARIJUANA IS THE LEAST OF OUR PROBLEMS! WE HAVE 9 SUICIDES EVERY SECOND OF EVERY DAY IN OUR NATION AND IN CANADA BECAUSE ANOTHER PERSON CANNOT GET HELP WITH THEIR PAIN! LAST AND DEFINITELY NOT LEAST,
“TWO” OF THOSE NINE SUICIDES ARE OUR VETERANS! IS THIS THE WAY WE TREAT OUR HEROES WHO HAVE FOUGHT TO PROTECT ME AND YOU AND OUR COUNTRY?

DEA have the easiest job in law enforcement. They can apply with a high school diploma…no effort needed toward a university degree. They carry guns and swagger like bad dudes. They lie professionally. And they can use all the drugs they want, as long as they remember to write reports about it.
No way will they give those jobs up willingly.
We must bear that in mind, every time any of them say anything about anybody.
These are trained, professional liars, who are protecting their jobs.
Of course it will get ugly.
Thank you for keeping us informed pharmacistseve! The DEA is hurting a lot of innocent people right now. I hate it. They are so out of bounds now. We need to speak up and stop them. It is the War on Chronic Pain Now!! not drugs…..
It is about time that someone slapped the hands of the DEA. They have over stepped their bounds. All we need is an uproar from all these patients in chronic pain.
