  1. How was the CDC able to become “The Voice” for suggesting opioid prescribing guidelines? It’s not like they’re the AMA or that the AMA to listen to them. Or any medical group/provider for that matter. I’ve been reading about the role of the CDC and this doesn’t seem to be a part of it. I’ve been confused about this for a very long time.

  2. As Chronic Pain Paitents struggle to keep their pain medications to function and have a quality of life what these people have to say intrigues me. I’m actually going to tune in for this. Dr. Fudin is the guest speaker and it will be interesting to hear his opinions on this subject.
The following is a copy of his professional bio:
*He has participated in developing practice guidelines for use of opioids in chronic noncancer pain (APS, AAPM collaborative) and participated in national and international guideline development for opioid-induced constipation, urine drug monitoring, arthritis, fibromyalgia, and palliative care.

He is a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist and Director, PGY-2 Pharmacy Pain Residency Programs, Stratton Veterans Administration Medical Center (WOC) in Albany NY and Chief Executive and Chief Medical Officer for Remitigate of Delmar NY. He also serves on the New York State Board of Medicine Office of Professional Conduct.

He is adjunct faculty at Western New England University College of Pharmacy and Albany College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences. He has been an invited speaker on various pain management foci including but not limited to opioids (opioid-induced constipation, rational tapers, pharmacogenetics, morphine equivalents, urine and serum monitoring, legal and ethical issues, opioid safety), and several non-opioid therapeutics topics nationally.*
