  1. People are committing suicide. More lives will be lost. The statistics show that the problem is illicit opioids. I hope the HHS Task Force will abide by the DOCTORS and not the attorneys. Many physicians and pain management specialists have expressed their alarm at what’s occuring as a result of the CDC Guidelines.

I am so full of vitrol for the posturing going on. The real experts are pain management specialists. IF doctors are going to let THREATS like these erode their ability to practice medicine which they trained years for, I might as well just go to my state senator for my next health check-up.

The CDC Is performing a deadly experiment. People have real pain and will die to escape from the pain. Pain steals away people’s ability to participate in activities that are meaningful. There are lists of the names of people who have committed suicide… That’s blood on the CDC’s hands. And on the hands of anyone who could fight on behalf of those of us who are still living. Doctors know our capacity to fight is being stolen from us, and doctors know that they didn’t go into medicine to get steamrolled and watch for patients’ obituaries in the newspaper.

Thank you to all of those doctors and medical professionals who wrote to the HHS Task Force on our behalf. YOU are what medicine is about — caring for patients who put trust in you. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. I’m still here… and I hope I make it through this.

I have friends who I am deeply concerned for.
