FREE AT LAST !!

getoutofjailThree nights is just about all the hospital staff could take of me… they kicked me out discharged me .  They sort of described my health status Tues as “skating on thin ice while dodging bullets”. Apparently my cardiovascular system has the same degree of chutzpah that my personality normally displays.. “kick ass and take no prisoners”  Certain life changes ahead.. less sitting.. gotta find an alternative to keep blogging..  I have Dragon Naturally Speaking.. may have to learn how to use it..  Now on Warfarin for a indeterminate period of times.. so now I have to give up “rabbit food” 🙁  Or at least I have a valid reason not to eat it 🙂

Now you gotta take care of yourself.. To help others, first you have to make sure you “Take care of yourself”.

  5. Holy cow! I am glad you did not ignore the symptoms any longer. I had a big health scare this year, too. Changes your priorities, right? Be good to yourself and savor every moment.

  7. Let’s see no rabbit food…translates to MORE BACON!!! LOL Everyone knowshould things are better with bacon. My hubby was put on South Beach Diet for his Type 2 diabetes….hardly any carbs but he could eat all the protein, cheeses and most veggies he wanted. You might look at that diet…you could cut most of the greens and add more carbs than he does. Most of the receipes are pretty good…lots of fish, chicken and it is very adjustable.

    • Any of the diets low in carbs are by necessity low in sugar since sugar is a carbohydrate. Bacon in moderation is probably better for you than almost all highly processed foods. I prefer to buy mine from a local producer, and I save the drippings to flavor my rabbit food.

  8. Steve, you need to take better care of yourself! Remember, there are a ton of people who depend on your wise a strait to the point commentary. I for one am glad you’re hanging in there and that you let us know that you are still with us. Anyway, be good and take care of that heart. People are usually only issued one in a lifetime.

  9. Damn, Steve, we’re getting old. Well we’re all going to give you advice, so here’s mine. Take walks, take walks, take walks. Eat no sugar, Period. None. Zero. Zip. Drink only water and pure expensive dark juice like cherry, grape and cranberry. No additives. Eat NO processed foods. And if we all do that, we’ll be so attractive everyone will want to be a pain patient! (I know you do this for your wife and you’re not a pain patient.)

Be well…we need you more than ever!!! And we kinda like you too.

    • Steve…you know better than the “I can’t eat rabbit food on Coumadin” line. You can. You just have to be consistent with your intake of those foods in order to not adversely effect your INR. I worked for a SNF pharmacy services provider for a bunch of years and we had a Warfarin (Coumadin) monitoring service and a collaborative practice agreement where we monitored, ordered labs and adjusted doses. Eat healthy.

    • Great advice Kandiapple. If more people heeded this dietary advice we would probably see drops of 50% or more in Rx drug sales. It would not be good for the typical pharmacist or for that matter physician, nurse etc traditional employment system, but we could go back to nature’s first pharmacy i.e. food.

You are what you eat, and additionally what your food eats. Be it what animals sources eat or what type of soils the plants grow in. Plant your own garden, get your hands in the soil, and as the poster says below, you can eat rabbit food if you are consistent in it’s consumption. By all means cut out processed food and refined sugars. It’s not the fat in our diets that’s killing us it is the SUGAR. It exacerbates inflammation and pain.

Extra virgin organic coconut oil is wonderful also I’ve been consuming about an ounce a day over the last couple of months and I can now wear my daughter’s size 4 clothes and skinny jeans. Never thought I’d see my waist line again.

  10. Yay!! Glad you’re out and on the road to recovery! Even frequent breaks from the computer helps.

  11. Glad your still with us . I have a question , sorry , but I was wondering why the FBI isn’t investigating our elected officials who are neither doctors nor rehab specialist and the DEA instead of wasting tax payers money on Russia and the Olympics . One would think they would be more concerned about the Genocide of American Citizens instead . The DEA is not supposed to be denying medical intervention but going after street dealers and foreign drugs coming to our streets . The DEA also is so currupt they are not enforcing all the laws like Cannibis , it is my understanding you enforce all laws not pick and choose . Thank you for reading glad your out of hospital , George G.

  12. Hey ever thought about one of those adjustable desktop stands where you can stand at the computer then adjust it back to sit? My mom is investigating them for her work due to her issues with sitting and the research and reviews are promising.
