Advocates File Complaint With State Officials Over Walgreens’ New Pharmacy Format

An advocacy group filed a complaint with state health officials Wednesday alleging Walgreens’ new pharmacy format is a public health and patient privacy risk to Floridians.
“But the problem here is that there is still only one pharmacist responsible for the whole pharmacy,” she explained.
“They are going to be increasingly distracted by these new services they need to provide and being in a public area,” she said.” And distraction has been academically shown to increase the danger of prescription errors.”
In this new format, pharmacists will be monitoring prescriptions and staff remotely via computer screens.
Gee, do you think that distractions increase the risk of med errors ? Since this groups claims that it has been ACADEMICALLY SHOWN… do these state Boards of Pharmacy do not do their research.. or do they just take WAGS’ “dog and pony show” presented to the BOP’s “hook…line… sinker ?”
I do not know the structure of the Florida bureaucracy.. but.. what do you think that the chance is that one state agency is going to scold another state agency ?
I do know that FL AG Bondi is gun-ho about drug abuse and deaths by drug overdoses.. let’s see if she worries about citizens being killed/harmed over med errors caused by work environment that is increasing distractions, volume and distancing RPH’s from being in direct supervision of a increasing number of tech..
