Notice that the “Good Samaritan ” part of the bill.. can only be used as a DEFENSE… when they drag you ass to court… because someone you were with OD’ed and you called for help.. They admit that the Heroin epidemic is caused by their crack down on legal opiates.. You would think that they would eventually get tired of playing Wack-a-Mole !

  2. So if the “good samaritian” is going to be dragged into court and then has to use that defense to have the charges dropped, why would anyone then want to help…I think that part defeats the purpose. They really need to expand on the medical amnesty laws like on the college campuses for alcohol ODs in underage or legal age drinkers which have saved lives. No charges for those who call. This guy really comes across as someone who wants to put heroin users in jail rather than treatment, Remember addicts have to want to go to treatment. Naloxone is only going work for so many doses and the OD patient needs respiratory support until EMS gets there. I hope someone is setting up kits with mouth protectors. I wouldn’t want to do mouth to mouth on someone I don’t know and many ODs are mixed where naloxone won’t be very effective. I have heard that they have managed to get around the abuse deterrent OxyContin. If they truly want it, they’ll get it

  3. Well, that’s all the DEA and law enforcement really know how to do…
    more enforcement.
