ABC7 News asked Giant why it took nearly a year before management detected thousands of missing prescription pills. A spokesman for the Prince George’s County-based grocer refused to answer the direct question, saying instead: “As this matter involves an ongoing legal investigation, we must refer all questions to the local authorities.”

  1. Again addiction is a crime while alcholism gets a pass. But depending on his attorney and ifmrhis is his first offense , etc, I dont know wht his state boards impairment program is like but IMHO, those who are in it for drug substances are blackballed by potential employers while in the program compared to those who are in for alcohol abuse and the license is on probation which is sad because while they are strictly monitored with random drug tests, they are deemed safe to work according to the board and are probably more so than those not in a program getting help who may not yet have been caught abusing substances. Those whomhave successfully completed a program actually make better employees after their probation is lifted because they have learned. Improved coping skills and dealt with their ‘demons’ I am in no way advocating random drug testing in the workplace without probanle cause, but as it has been pointed out before we have 100 years of not allowing medication addiction to be treated as an illness privately by ones physician, but by throwing one in jail.
