Who is telling the truth ?

Recently I posted about the DEA and the rationing of opiates to pharmacies  https://www.pharmaciststeve.com/?p=4893

DEA throws healthcare professionals under the bus !

and a quote from that post from a DEA spokesman..

The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration is not trying to limit or ration access to opioid painkillers, according to a DEA spokesman who says “nothing should stand in the way” of a patient getting a legitimate prescription for pain medication filled.

“We’re not doctors. We’re regulators and enforcers of the law. If something is prescribed for a legitimate medical purpose, we’re certainly not going to get in the way,” said DEA spokesman Rusty Payne.

Then last week I listen to a webinar on the war on drugs presented by an attorney who formally worked for the DEA.

I you wish to listen to the whole 59 minute presentation plus Q&A   http://www.medispan.com/videos/controlled-substances/

screenshot1If you don’t… here is one screen shot from his power point presentation..

Notice the heading of this slide… and notice one of the “tactics” is allotments/thresholds reduced

So who is telling the truth.. the current employee.. protecting his job ?

or .. a former employee of the agency.. who does not have to worry about his job with the DEA ?

You can come to your own conclusion

  1. Thank you so much. I have been refused by 6 pharmacists in 2 days trying to get 14 kadian capsules filled. That was after I was told my morphine dose was being cut 1/3 after months because of FDA regulations. Shame when you can’t receive what your doctor orders and don’t know who to believe. Appreciate your answer.

  2. They are lying!!!
I wish we knew what, how or who could stop the DEA from continuing to harm innocent patients any further? Something needs to be done real soon before ALL patients have nothing left to control their pain. Pharmacies here FL are NOT carrying the proper amounts or all the types of pain medicines to care for the patients in this state. I wonder if this happening in other states as well? Patients having to wait over 30 days, going into withdraw waiting to fill a med that isn’t even really what their doctor says is best for them, nor works best for them. The availability of choices are severely limited. Besides all that, doses have been severely CUT to a point that legitimate pain patients who have been in long term PM are not able to get out of bed anymore and just want to die. I get emails from them daily. They used to have a life…This is not freedom. The US used to be about freedom, that is now gone. Where do all go from here? The BOP isn’t willing to take the DEA on.
I pray that somehow, someone in the government will stop the DEA!
Somebody needs to or many patients will be screwed and just left to suffer.
    Very darn sad.
