There’s a new first responder on the lookout for anyone who may be experiencing mental health issues.

“Most people probably see their pharmacists more than their primary care physicians or certified therapists, so pharmacists are in a really good position to be able to notice these early warning signs or risk factors,” said Chad Cadwell, a Walgreens pharmacist.

Walgreens pharmacists just finished the first phase of mental health first aid training. The program was developed by the National Council for Behavioral Health.

Tо say thаt tianeptine hаѕ revolutionized thе study аnd treatment оf depression wоuld bе premature. But researchers аrе excited аbоut іtѕ unique clinical аnd pharmacological properties. Thе little-known drug іѕ changing thе wау thе psychiatric community thinks аbоut depression. Instead оf simply blaming chemical imbalances іn thе brain fоr thіѕ incredibly complex, increasingly common disorder, thеу аrе nоw considering mоrе comprehensive theories thаt mау lead tо a better understanding оf thе disease. Numerous studies hаvе noted a substantial reduction іn neuroplasticity іn patients taking tianeptine fоr long-term treatment оf clinical depression. You will get more about the Tianeptine Shop here. If you prefer smoking cannabis to help with your depression, you may order your favorite products from a weed dispensary online.

They’re taught to look for risk factors and red flags in patients, everything from anxiety and depression to addiction.

Pharmacists can connect those people with the right resources, support groups, or may just lend an empathetic ear.

“Really listening to their needs, spending those extra couple of minutes, instead of trying to get the work out, but also spending that time talking and listening to your patients, right now with everything that is going on with the pandemic, everything is so busy,” said Cadwell.

This training initiative was actually put into place pre-pandemic.

Mental Health America has already seen significant increases in the number of daily screenings for depression and anxiety since the beginning of the year.

  1. Yep, the politicians have suddenly become complex pain mgmt experts, psychiatrists, pharmaceutical experts who know more than the FDA & think they are gods. In a militant fashion they are throning pharmacists as medical police (as well as complex pain mgmt experts, psychiatrists, etc.), who suddenly magically know each of our detailed medical histories. They likely weren’t fully trained in all of those medical specialties. Then there’s the tracking program following CPPs & their dr’s. But hey, it’s all to “save” us right? Oh, & Kolodny’s university received a grant to make a new monitoring system that will seek out supposed “addicts” & “criminal” dr’s. No conflict of interest there!

  2. Good Lord help us all…. now we can go to the pharmacy for ” one stop ” shopping…forget the urgent care and ER…we have “,super pharmacies “…we won’t only refuse to fill all of your necessary scripts we will RED FALG YOU AS SMI AS WELL…SO YOU WILL GO HOME AND CONTEMPLATE SUICIDE…YAYYY…DUE TO THE DESPERATION TO GET OUT OF PAIN..BECAUSE YOU ARE A MEDICAL ENIGMA AND NO SURGEONS WANT TO TOUCH YOU TO GET YOUR ISSUES FIXED.. AND IF THAT’S NOT ENOUGH ALREADY…TAKE THAT 8 DAY SUPPLY OF PAIN MEDICATION (THAT I STRETCH AND MAKE LAST 30 DAYS) AWAY FROM ME…VIAL RATS..I WISH UPON EACH AND EVERY ONE OF THEM THAT THEY MAY GET EVERY MEDICAL PROBLEM, SYNDROME, RARE CONDITIONS I HAVE ALONG WITH MY ENTIRE BODY FULL OF STAGE 4 OA AND LET ME TAKE NOTES ON HOW THESE PROVIDERS, PHARMACISTS, CDC CONTROL FREAKS DEAL WITH ALL OF IT….

  3. Too bad for these, I am similarly ‘trained’ and they won’t be ‘getting away’ with ANY arbitrary declining of scripts for severe pain.

  4. oh great….it’s not like most pharmacists don’t have enough to do as it is. And already many of them are superseding doctors by deciding whether or not patients may have their pain or brith control meds…now they’re supposed to be shrinks too?? And if they think someone is depressed or anxious, will that then give them even more excuses to refuse our pain med scrips? Why are we even bothering with doctors any more? Pharmacists, bureaucrats, Federal LEOs, & politicians have more control over general (for acute pain treatment) & pain patients’ medical care than their freaking doctors.

    • I started to comment on this yesterday but had to come back to it today. Canarensis, you could not have worded my feeling about this any better.

      • Theresa,
In a way, I’m sorry we understand each other & our situation so well. It’s like, “hey, we’re in the same boat! ….too bad it’s the Titanic.”
        Best to you.

    • That last line should’ve been “…more control over chronic pain patients’ pain treatment & medical care….”
Failed to adequately proofread. Mea culpa
