Today we will be discussing the danger of flags and the Prescription Drug Monitoring Program. I have a strong personal connection to this issue and it is a concept that terrifies me daily. I have considered making a video including my personal story with pharmacy flags, but as always, I want these videos to be about US rather than myself. If you would like to see my story in reference to this issue please let me know in the comments below! Let me say briefly that I do not object to the concept of a PDMP but rather would like to see exemptions made for pain patients and room for explanation in the database that often proves to be incredibly damaging for those suffering from chronic pain. In addition, the PDMP has increased the sense of fear felt by both pharmacists and doctors nationwide and naturally, that means that legitimate prescriptions are severely impacted as a result. Anything that deters the ability to obtain legal and medically necessary prescriptions is destructive to patient care and I hope this video is helpful in exposing the unintended consequences of government regulations on opioids. I love you all! Keep being warriors! 1. I’d like to finish reading your story. I’ve been yellow flagged on my drs, which is my pain dr and two surgeons that operated on me in dec. and red flagged on my dose

  2. Hi
I personally believe the PDMP’S are POLICING all scheduled medications; thus those persons prescribed them. Seems to be a very easy way for flagging, blacklisting, removing and another invasive step against persons who need specific meds. Doctor’s have complained constantly about the amount of paperwork and valuable time it takes to follow the CDC GUIDELINES(NOT MANDATES) as they continue the degradation of millions of CPP’s.
This system is definitely doing more harm. Each person is an individual and has specific needs addressed. Pain issues vary and theis PDMP SYSTEM dies nothing to help those in pain. Only benefit is the doctor makes his/her judgemental opinion as to who does/doesn’t; is or isn’t ALLOWED scheduled opiate analgesics. Facist dictatorship is alive and doing well in the healthcare arena.
