Liking vs Sharing on FACEBOOK

Some of us have regularly discussed why many in the chronic pain community do not seem to be connected in general.

I have been paying attention to the number of “likes” verses the number of “shares”

There in may lie the problem… according to what I have read when someone “likes” on a post or comment in FB.. apparently all it does is place one of various “icons” on the post

Whereas, when someone “shares” a post… it is copied out to all of their FB friends.. which might almost bring them up to speed on what is happening or not happening in or to the chronic pain community and in turn they may share if with all their friends.

Maybe more “sharing” of FB posts might get more in the chronic pain community on the same page and more “bodies” into “the fight”

  1. Yes, I’ve noticed that on most of my posts, that only get one share at best. It is impossible to get the propaganda ended if people don’t spread the news. Hopefully they will listen to you through this post, and share more. Even, in my case, they can copy the link to a post and then put it on their FB page themselves.

  2. Thanks for the Post Steve, we have the same problem with Twitter, I can get a hundred likes and on the same post only get like 10 shares.
    I guess I’ll just start writing on the post don’t just like it, share it so everybody gets this information.

  3. You are absolutely right! I was in Internet advertising for many years and likes, unfortunately, do little, if no good! We need people sharing stories about chronic pain sufferers losing their medication and pain control.

    Looking for a great chronic pain sufferers support group? Also looking to advocate for your rights to proper pain medications for yourself and others in chronic pain?

  4. Thank you for helping us who are suffering needlessly from incurable chronic unmanaged pain

  5. Well the largest group, Don’t Punish Pain is rather organized, as are the other big ones ATIP. I think why within these ‘large’ groups there is not a large available force is #1 they are very and sick old, #2 what EXACTLY can be done is poorly defined and what we have now, writing and talking to senators and congressional reps, lawyers and judges or the FDA, is just not natural for most. Above all we would not expect the stupidity that the response of the people we are talking and writing to if we can. If they ignore us, they would ignore The Holocaust. It’s disheartening.

    • This deal needs and edit option. No matter how hard I try, I include numerous errors in every reply the first time. Let me try again;
      Well the largest group, Don’t Punish Pain Rallies is rather organized, as are the other big ones, e.g. ATIP. Why within these ‘large’ groups there is not a large available force to do any one thing well is;
      #1 MOST are very sick and old,
      #2 what EXACTLY can be done is poorly defined and what needs to be, or could be done, is huge.
      What we have now, writing and talking to senators and congressional reps, lawyers and judges, our doctors, or the FDA, is just not natural for most.
      Above all we would not expect the impotent response to this potent issue by those writing and talking to.
      If they ignore us, they would ignore The Holocaust. It’s disheartening.
