AMENDMENT TO THE SENATE AMENDMENT TO H.R. 6- opiate recovery act

AMENDMENT TO THE SENATE AMENDMENT TO H.R. 6

Anyone interested in the details of the Senate bill that passed the Senate recently by 99 to 1 … the bill is ONLY 660 pages

SHORT TITLE:  This Act may be cited as the 2 ‘‘Substance Use–Disorder Prevention that Promotes 3 Opioid Recovery and Treatment for Patients and Communities Act’’ or the ‘‘SUPPORT for Patients and Communities Act’’.

Shouldn’t we all be ecstatic that Congress is wanting to help a few million opiate substance abusers (addicts) get clean – that FEW REALLY WANT TO GET CLEAN ?

  1. ‘‘SEC. 569D. NOTIFICATION, NONDISTRIBUTION, AND RE-20 CALL OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES.

‘‘If the Secretary determines there is a reasonable probability that a controlled substance would cause serious adverse health consequences or death, the Secretary may, after providing the appropriate person with an opportunity to consult with the agency, issue an order requiring manufacturers, importers, distributors, or pharmacists, who distribute such controlled substance to immediately cease distribution of such controlled substance.”

    • “serious adverse health consequences or death”
Good grief, that applies to nearly every medication ever made, to at least some percentage of those taking it. For one thing, all NSAIDs would certainly have to be yanked by those criteria. Morons.

  2. I believe the plan is to judge pain patients as having OUD which will force into rehab or on to Suboxone.

  3. I am working on the summary of HR 6 and will have it posted on the membership site of Doctorsofcourage at http://www.docmembers.doctorsofcourage.org. It will make things a whole lot worse for all of us–doctors and patients.

What is it going to take to get people in chronic pain or physicians to work together to end these attacks?
